Her Excellency Maryam Al Suwaidi has been the CEO of the Securities & Commodities Authority since 2021, making her the first woman in the GCC to lead a capital markets authority. At the SCA, Dr Al Suwaidi heads the International Competitiveness team. She also previously served as Deputy Chairman and Team Leader of the UAE’s Technical Committee, overseeing the supervision of financial markets within the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Dr Al Suwaidi holds a PhD in law from the UK’s University of Leeds, along with a master’s degree in commercial law from the University of Wales.
