Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri is the UAE’s Minister of Education and a trailblazing Emirati scientist and technologist. She has previously held positions as Minister of State for Advanced Technology, Chair of the UAE Space Agency, and Deputy Project Manager and Science Lead for the Emirates Mars Mission (Hope). The mission successfully reached Mars in 2021, marking the UAE as the first Arab nation to accomplish this feat.
The minister champions scientific innovation, digital transformation, and gender equity in STEM. She also chairs the UAE Council of Scientists and has been recognised on global lists, including BBC’s 100 Women and Time 100 Next.
She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science from the American University of Sharjah.
