Building on a string of AI-focused announcements made in recent weeks, the UAE has unveiled a two-year action plan to integrate advanced artificial intelligence across its private sector, aiming to secure a “competitive edge” in the global workplace of the future.

Announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, the initiative, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will roll out training programmes to support businesses in adopting cutting-edge AI agents.

“Our goal is for Dubai to become the world’s leading city in adopting these technologies economically and commercially – giving us a new competitive edge for the future,” he said.

The program will include specialised training tracks for all business councils affiliated with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Sheikh Hamdan noted that the chamber has been directed to establish incubators focused on agentic AI companies to support the transformation, create new economic opportunities for young people in this field, and set up dedicated funds for it.

“Our objective is to empower our companies to adopt these technologies that will boost productivity, expand business volumes, and reshape the city, making its economy the best in the world in adopting agentic AI technologies,” he added.

The initiative is a part of the broader government vision to encourage the use of AI to boost efficiency and productivity and raise standards of public services.

Earlier, the government launched the AI+ Program, committed to AI for defence capabilities and work management, and announced plans to run 50% of the government on agentic AI in the next two years.

Since 2024, the UAE has poured about $148 billion (roughly 543 billion AED) into AI, both domestically and abroad. It has also forged several AI partnerships to advance the country.
