Shyam Mardikar who leads Jio’s mobile network strategy, design, and transformation, executed one of the world’s fastest 5G rollouts, deploying nearly one million 5G cells in just 12 months. He was appointed president and group chief technology officer (CTO) for mobility at Reliance Jio Platforms in September 2018.

Before joining Jio, he was CTO for mobile networks at Bharti Airtel Ltd. He previously held leadership roles at Lebara Group in the UK and the Department of Telecommunications in India.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from the Jabalpur Engineering College and has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
