An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and the Wharton School of Business, Puri joined ITC in 1986 and has held diverse leadership roles across manufacturing, operations, digital technology, and business management.

Rising through the ranks, he became CEO in 2017, managing director in 2018, and chairman in 2019. Puri has driven ITC’s transformation with the ‘ITC Next’ vision, focusing on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability. He has also overseen the company’s diversification into FMCG, hotels, agribusiness, and IT. His key achievements include spearheading sustainability initiatives, launching first-to-market products, and receiving honors such as the distinguished alumnus award from IIT-Kanpur and the ‘IMPACT Person of the Year 2020.’
