e& UAE, the flagship telecom arm of global technology group e&, has launched a locally developed unified communications platform designed to keep enterprise data and communications within the country’s borders.
Called OneWork, the cloud-based communications and collaboration platform is built, hosted, and managed entirely in the UAE. The offering combines voice, video conferencing, messaging, file sharing, and cloud telephony into a single platform while ensuring enterprise communications and workloads remain in-country—a growing requirement for organizations operating in regulated sectors.
As artificial intelligence, cloud adoption, and digital public services expand, organizations are increasingly expected to comply with national data-residency requirements while reducing their dependence on overseas infrastructure. Sovereign cloud platforms have consequently emerged as a strategic priority, particularly for government entities, financial institutions, and critical industries.
“OneWork represents a significant milestone in delivering sovereign digital capabilities within the UAE,” said Ali Al Raqabani, Vice President of Service Delivery & Back Office at e& UAE. He said organizations are placing increasing importance on data residency, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience, requiring communication platforms that are developed, hosted, and managed locally.
Beyond compliance, the platform is positioned as a tool for enterprises seeking to replace legacy communications infrastructure. Moreover, it is designed to support cloud-based contact centers and enterprise collaboration at scale. The company says organizations can expand communications capacity without significant capital investment while maintaining local control over critical data and operations.
