Following months of geopolitical tensions, the United Arab Emirates is reinforcing its commitment to advance its defence capabilities.
The UAE Ministry of Defence is in the process of introducing a comprehensive package of digital transformation and artificial intelligence initiatives.
Implemented under the supervision of the Office of the Assistant Minister of State for Digital Transformation, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence, the project will be done in collaboration with a group of strategic partners.
The projects, the Ministry notes, are designed to accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies across the defence sector, improving efficiency and aligning operations with national ambitions for a more agile and responsive digital government under the UAE Digital Transformation Strategy 2031.
Focused on leveraging AI to support planning and data analysis and development of advanced systems, the initiative will also enhance the ministry’s ability to respond swiftly to evolving security and technological challenges, both domestically and internationally.

It is also aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces’ standing among leading adopters of advanced technologies.
Earlier, the UAE announced plans to have 50% of federal government operations powered by “agentic AI” within two years. “AI is no longer a tool. It analyses, decides, executes, and improves in real time. It will become our executive partner to enhance services, accelerate decisions, and raise efficiency,” said the UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in a directive.
