The initiative is a part of a broader strategy to upgrade digital capabilities and integrate AI systems across defence operations to build national capabilities for the times to come.

Most AI pilots perform well in controlled environments. But when deployed at scale, many fail—not because the technology is flawed, but because the conditions they were built for don’t exist outside the demo.

It builds on DIFC’s 2023 five-year AI strategy, which laid down governance policies and incorporated AI via Regulation 10 as part of the DIFC Data Protection Law.
