Vijay Kannan is the Vice President Digital Operations at Danone, a global food and beverage company. In his earlier role as Global Head of Business Transformation and Chief Digital Officer at GCPL, he led enterprise-wide digital innovation and growth strategies. With 19 years of experience across consumer goods and energy sectors, he has consistently delivered measurable business impact through technology. At GCPL, Kannan is reshaping core business processes, modernizing consumer engagement, and launching digital-first models. Before joining in 2022, he served as Global CIO and CDO for Shell’s Lubricants business, where he built end-to-end digital ecosystems and e-commerce platforms. He previously held technology leadership roles at Hindustan Unilever and began his career at Asian Paints. Kannan holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, and an MBA from IIM Lucknow.
