    As banks across the Middle East accelerate investments in digital infrastructure to meet changing customer expectations and regulatory requirements, Islamic financial institutions are increasingly rethinking how technology can enhance both accessibility and compliance. Within this context, Al Baraka Bank Egypt has inaugurated its first fully integrated digital branch at its headquarters on South 90th Street in New Cairo, marking a significant step in the bank’s digital transformation agenda.

    The launch reflects the bank’s push to modernize Islamic banking services in response to evolving customer expectations and in alignment with regulations set by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). It also underscores Al Baraka Bank Egypt’s broader ambition to position digital channels as the primary interface for customer engagement, with a target of serving 70% of its customer base through digital platforms.

    Hazem Hegazy, CEO and Vice Chairman of Al Baraka Bank Egypt, commented: “The launch of our first digital branch marks a key milestone in our journey toward a more advanced and efficient banking model that brings together technological innovation and adherence to Islamic banking principles.”

    He added: “Through this branch, we aim to deliver a fully integrated banking experience that places customers at the heart of everything we do, offering faster and easier access to banking services while reflecting our vision for advancing digital banking and enhancing customer experience.”

    The digital branch leverages advanced technologies to deliver smart, automated services that reduce reliance on manual processes and streamline banking transactions. Customers can access services throughout the week, benefit from simplified account opening, and complete transactions more quickly and flexibly than in traditional branch settings.

    By strengthening its digital infrastructure, Al Baraka Bank Egypt aims to enhance operational efficiency, elevate customer experience, and support the continued development of Egypt’s digital economy.
