Atanu Ranjan Pal brings over 32 years of R&D, engineering, and innovation experience to Tata Steel, where he serves as CTO (Process). He has led numerous breakthroughs in sustainable metallurgy, alloy design, and hydrogen-based steelmaking.
He has filed 32 patents, with more than 15 granted, reflecting his deep contributions to materials science. His expertise spans high-temperature alloys, carbon capture, process optimization, and clean energy integration in steel manufacturing.
Pal holds a B.Tech in Ceramic Technology from Calcutta University, a Ph.D. in Metallurgy and Material Science from Jadavpur University, and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He also serves as Vice President of the Indian Ceramic Society.
