  • Networking and security company Cisco and UAE-based AI firm G42 have announced an expanded collaboration to improve AI infrastructure across the UAE. This deal marks a step forward in strengthening the US-UAE technological relationship under the broader AI Acceleration Partnership.

As part of the agreement, Cisco will provide the core technology to a large-scale AI cluster deployed by G42, which will use AMD’s new MI350X GPUs. The setup will bring together Cisco’s full range of AI infrastructure (including computing, networking, security, storage, and monitoring tools) to deliver a unified management for the region’s AI systems.

Cisco will also serve as the primary technology integrator for G42’s Regulated Technology Environment (RTE), a compliance and security framework designed to safeguard advanced compute infrastructure. The RTE enforces stringent protocols for governance, transparency, and protection, ensuring responsible use of AI systems and preventing unauthorized access or data misuse.

The partnership builds on the US–UAE AI Acceleration Partnership, an initiative launched to deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of technology. Flagship projects under the program include the 1GW Stargate UAE AI cluster under construction in Abu Dhabi and the 5GW UAE–US AI technology campus announced earlier this year.

G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao described the collaboration as a milestone in aligning US and UAE innovation ecosystems. Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins emphasized that the partnership underscores the company’s long-term role in the UAE’s digital transformation.

AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su added that the collaboration highlights how advanced GPU technology can accelerate national digital ambitions. “Our AMD Instinct MI350X accelerators provide the performance and scalability needed to drive secure, sovereign AI innovation,” she said.

According to Cisco’s latest research, 92% of UAE organizations plan to deploy AI agents, yet only 25% currently possess sufficient GPU capacity. The Cisco–G42 initiative directly addresses this gap, delivering AI-ready data centers equipped with Cisco UCS 885A servers, Nexus 9K 800G switches, and next-generation Firepower firewalls—all designed to support AI growth.

Pending regulatory approvals, deployment is expected to begin in the coming months positioning the UAE as a regional leader in secure, sovereign AI infrastructure.
