  • Abu Dhabi has renewed its commitment to becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence and advanced technology with the reconstitution of its Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC). The decision, announced on Thursday evening by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, was welcomed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, who will serve as the council’s chairman. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has been appointed vice chairman.

In a post on X, Sheikh Tahnoon expressed gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the confidence placed in the council’s leadership. “We draw inspiration from this confidence to continue advancing innovation and development, working with renewed determination to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for artificial intelligence and advanced technology, and to build a digital future that fulfils the vision and aspirations of our wise leadership,” he wrote.

The AIATC will continue to lead funding, investment, and research programmes in collaboration with local and international partners. The council’s agenda aligns closely with the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025–2027, which aims to make the emirate the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027. The plan includes strategic investments designed to accelerate digital transformation and create an integrated, data-driven governance model.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the reconstituted council will play a central role in shaping the emirate’s digital ecosystem, fostering innovation across sectors, and ensuring that Abu Dhabi remains at the forefront of AI-driven governance and economic growth.

In parallel with the council’s renewed mandate, Deloitte has announced a partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement (DGE) to help the emirate realise its AI-native government vision. The collaboration focuses on embedding AI, data analytics, and cloud computing across government entities to enhance efficiency, integration, and citizen-focused service delivery.

Under the partnership, Deloitte is helping implement the Data Enablement Program, which will enhance data quality, maturity, and governance across Abu Dhabi’s government entities. By standardising data practices and developing a unified, high-quality data repository, the initiative will help create scalable AI solutions across departments.

The collaboration also includes large-scale digital transformation initiatives, such as the implementation of Government Resource Planning systems and ServiceNow projects, to improve operations across government platforms.
