Urvashi Aneja is the Founder and Executive Director of the Digital Futures Lab, a multidisciplinary research collective examining the societal impacts and governance of emerging technologies, with a focus on artificial intelligence in India and the Global South.
Her work advances debates on responsible AI, digital public infrastructure, platform governance, and labour rights. She has advised governments and international organizations on technology policy and has led several flagship projects on AI ethics and governance.
Aneja holds a PhD in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of Oxford and a BA in Philosophy and Literature from Utrecht University. Her research is widely cited in leading international journals, and she has served on expert committees convened by the Government of India. Recognized as a leading voice on AI ethics, she is shaping pathways for equitable and inclusive digital futures.
