  • The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met American entrepreneur and Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday as rumors of a potential 2026 SpaceX listing made headlines.

President Nahyan held talks with the billionaire on a range of shared interests- from the latest developments in advanced technology and AI to how these innovations can be leveraged to improve the quality of life and support global progress.

The two discussed the importance of cross-border partnerships, the role of collaboration and knowledge sharing, and how they are key to enabling nations and specialized institutions to drive digital transformation.

Musk also interacted with senior UAE leaders, including the crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

“I very much enjoyed a multifaceted discussion with Elon Musk on space, technology, and humanity. Excited to see what the future holds,” Sheikh Namdan wrote on X.

The UAE has been proactive in promoting, adopting, and investing in advanced technologies, especially AI, data centers, and mobility. Musk’s visit comes as Tesla works on expanding its global footprint. And this is where Dubai’s focus on renewable energy and smart mobility perfectly aligns with Tesla’s mission.

At present, Tesla is the 8th largest company worldwide in terms of market capitalization, worth $1.6 trillion.

Meanwhile, Musk became the first person worth over $700 billion following the Delaware Supreme Court’s reinstating Tesla stock options worth $139 billion that were voided last year, a feat he achieved after surpassing $600 billion in net worth earlier last week.

Tesla shareholders, in November, approved a $1 trillion pay plan for Musk, the largest corporate remuneration package in history, as investors showed positive sentiments on the entrepreneur’s vision of morphing the EV maker into an AI and robotics juggernaut.
