S. Krishnan has been serving as a secretary of MeitY since 11 September 2023, steering the ministry’s mission of driving India’s transition to a digitally empowered society and a developed nation through technology.
MeitY’s mandate under his leadership spans e-governance, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, internet governance, IT & ITeS growth, innovation, and ensuring cybersecurity.
A member of the Indian Administrative Service with 35 years of experience, Krishnan has held diverse roles in the government of Tamil Nadu, the Union government, and the International Monetary Fund.
