As the UAE amplifies its digital transformation and strives for technological sovereignty, securing and managing data within national borders has become a critical priority for government entities. The growing demand for cloud-based infrastructure tailored to local regulatory and security needs is reshaping the region’s digital landscape.
Developed in partnership with Oracle and hosted within duTech’s state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled data centers, the National Hypercloud is the UAE’s first sovereign hyperscale cloud platform. It combines over 150 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services with embedded AI capabilities, offering government entities and large enterprises a secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environment tailored to the country’s regulatory and data sovereignty requirements.
Jasim AlAwadi, Chief ICT Officer at du, highlighted the significance of the launch: “We are excited to debut our National Hypercloud platform, fostering digital innovation and success for our customers while honouring the importance of national data control. Our infrastructure serves as a bastion of sovereignty and security, while also enabling financial savviness and technological advancement necessary for the UAE’s pursuit of becoming a pioneering AI-utilizing nation.”
He further added, “With the launch of du Tech National Hypercloud, du proudly becomes the first local hyperscale cloud provider delivering a sovereign, scalable and secure cloud environment designed specifically to serve the needs of government entities and large enterprises across the UAE. By hosting and managing cloud services locally, we are not only accelerating digital transformation but also reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in secure, AI-driven innovation.”
Hosted in du Tech’s advanced liquid-cooled data centers, the platform delivers cutting-edge hardware including GPUs without customers needing heavy capital investment.
“Our homegrown National Hypercloud ensures that the UAE’s digital assets remain within the country’s borders, offering our customers a resilient and dynamic platform that is meticulously designed with their specific needs in mind,” added AlAwadi.
Customers can expect performance, efficiency, and the freedom to innovate within a secure and compliant sovereign cloud ecosystem. This will significantly transform how the public sector operates, providing a tailored environment for rapid cloud adoption, managing data with enhanced control over security and locality.
The initiative aligns with the UAE’s national AI strategy and digital sovereignty goals by providing government entities with a secure, compliant cloud environment that facilitates rapid adoption and innovation.
Miguel Vega, Senior Vice President for Database Platform & Cloud Infrastructure at Oracle Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, underscored the partnership’s regional importance: “Governments want to leverage the benefits of cloud and innovate with AI at scale, within a sovereign environment. Achieving this requires flexible deployment models. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) provides the same set of services across a range of distributed models to address this challenge. With the deployment of Oracle Alloy, du has introduced National Hypercloud, a capability that will help meet the sovereign requirements of government organisations in the UAE whilst supporting alignment with the local regulatory requirements.”
Through the National Hypercloud, du is positioning itself as a regional leader in cloud services, supporting the UAE’s ambitious vision of a digitally sovereign and AI-driven future.
