Anil Kumar Lahoti is Chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). He assumed this role after retiring in 2023 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, the apex decision-making body of Indian Railways.
During a career spanning nearly four decades, Lahoti drove reforms in freight transport, station redevelopment, and track modernization. After retirement from Indian Railways, he was appointed to lead a government expert committee on railway track inspection and later became Distinguished Visiting Professor at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara.
Lahoti graduated as a gold medallist from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior, and completed a master’s degree in structural engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He also attended executive programs at Carnegie Mellon University, SDA Bocconi School of Management, and the Indian School of Business.
