Adobe has issued a fiscal 2026 revenue and profit forecast that surpasses Wall Street expectations, underscoring robust global demand for its design ecosystem and an expanding monetization strategy around artificial intelligence.
The announcement reflects Adobe’s continued push to embed generative AI into its flagship tools, a move the company sees as essential in an increasingly competitive creative technology landscape.
Since the emergence of ChatGPT in 2022, Adobe has intensified its investment in generative AI through Firefly, the company’s proprietary model that integrates across the Creative Cloud suite to generate images, videos, and design elements. This approach aims not only to strengthen user engagement but also to differentiate Adobe as new AI-native competitors enter the market.
Despite Adobe’s longstanding dominance among students, creatives, and enterprise teams, the company is navigating heightened competitive pressure as rapid AI innovation enables challengers to scale faster and bid for large contracts.
Yet Adobe’s user adoption metrics suggest meaningful traction. CFO Dan Durn told Reuters that the company is experiencing strong momentum in AI usage, noting that monthly active users for its freemium products climbed 35% year over year to more than 70 million.
“We’re seeing significant strength in Creative Cloud Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom,” he said, emphasizing that embedding generative AI directly into core products “is paying off.”
As part of a broader expansion into digital advertising and marketing tech, Adobe last month announced plans to acquire Semrush for $1.9 billion. The deal is expected to give marketers deeper visibility into how their brands appear across search platforms, and generative-AI interfaces such as ChatGPT and Gemini, an emerging priority as consumer discovery patterns evolve.
Beginning fiscal 2026, Adobe will also refine its reporting structure to prioritize subscription revenue visibility across customer segments, including annual recurring revenue at year-end. The company projects annual revenue between $25.90 billion and $26.10 billion, slightly above analyst estimates of $25.87 billion. Adjusted earnings per share are expected to land between $23.30 and $23.50, exceeding consensus forecasts of $23.34.
Adobe’s latest quarterly performance reinforced this momentum, with fourth-quarter revenue reaching $6.19 billion, above market expectations of $6.11 billion.
