Amitesh Kumar Sinha is chief executive officer of the India Semiconductor Mission and additional secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He took over from Sushil Pal as ISM enters a critical second phase of development.
Under the ₹76,000 crore Semicon India programme, ISM is driving India’s ambition to become a global hub for semiconductor and display manufacturing. Sinha is now leading efforts to expand the mission’s scope, including support for essential chipmaking materials.
Launched in 2022, ISM serves as the central agency for implementing India’s semiconductor strategy.
