Pragya Misra is OpenAI’s first hire in India, leading Public Policy and Partnerships to shape AI discourse and bring Global South perspectives into the global conversation.
She previously headed Public Affairs at Truecaller, driving digital safety initiatives, and was WhatsApp’s first employee in India, managing policy during misinformation crises, privacy debates, and the rollout of WhatsApp Payments.
She also co-founded a tech startup, MBA-Infosoft, and began her career at Ernst & Young. A graduate of Delhi University and IMI New Delhi, with further studies at the London School of Economics, she bridges corporate strategy with public-interest policy.
