Ajman has entered the implementation phase of its government-wide artificial intelligence program, moving from planning to execution as the emirate rolls out AI initiatives across public-sector entities under a unified governance framework.
The transition was announced by Sheikh Humaid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, Member of the Executive Council and Leader of the Ajman Artificial Intelligence Program, marking the start of a three-year effort to coordinate AI adoption across government.
The program aims to deliver 100 AI initiatives aligned with the eight pillars of Ajman Vision. Rather than focusing solely on technology deployment, it is designed to establish governance structures, build workforce capabilities, develop implementation standards, and coordinate AI projects across government entities.
The implementation phase follows several months of preparation. The program was launched in May, followed by an initial coordination meeting. In July, officials approved its institutional operating model and finalized requirements for the first implementation phase. The latest milestone introduces the program’s first regulatory package, formally launching execution.
The package establishes the governance framework through three regulatory instruments, including the creation of Enablement and Governance Committees and an Executive Team to oversee implementation. It also defines responsibilities, implementation timelines, participating government entities, and coordination mechanisms.
Early implementation activities will include appointing AI coordinators across government departments, cataloguing existing and potential AI use cases, activating governance committees, and developing a common operating framework and standardized processes for approving AI projects.
Announcing the rollout, Sheikh Humaid said the program had entered a phase focused on institutional implementation, translating AI capabilities into improvements in government operations and public service delivery. He said the initiative is built around governance, enablement, and capacity building to ensure coordinated adoption across government.
