  • As organizations increasingly turn to AI to support decision-making, many see the technology’s greatest value in verifying information across multiple sources rather than replacing human judgment, according to International SOS’s latest Risk Outlook Pulse 2026 report.

The report found that nearly 60% of 250 respondents globally—including participants from the Middle East—identified information verification and validation as AI’s most valuable application. The findings reflect growing interest in using AI to improve the quality and speed of decision-making amid an increasingly complex global risk environment.

However, International SOS cautioned that AI should complement, rather than replace, human expertise.

“The integration of advanced analytics with deep human expertise is what delivers clarity from complexity—and transforms uncertainty into actionable foresight,” said Arnaud Vaissié, co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of International SOS.

Cvete Koneska, global security director at International SOS, said organizations also need to avoid overestimating the maturity of current AI tools.

“The potential is real, but so too is the risk of overestimating the maturity of current tools,” she said. “Misplaced dependence on AI can accelerate misinformation risks and delay critical decisions rather than improve them.”

The report highlights a growing emphasis on combining AI-driven analysis with human oversight as organizations navigate increasingly volatile geopolitical, cybersecurity, and operational risks.

According to International SOS, AI can help security and risk teams analyze large volumes of information more efficiently, identify emerging threats, and support faster decision-making. However, the organization said effective risk management will continue to depend on human judgment, governance, and contextual expertise, particularly when organizations face high-impact decisions.

The findings come as organizations worldwide continue to expand the use of AI across business operations while seeking safeguards against misinformation, inaccurate outputs, and overreliance on automated systems.
