70% of Organizations Prefer AI-Enabled Software, Survey Finds
Organizations are embracing AI across business functions while grappling with new vulnerabilities, from credential leaks to insecure AI-assisted coding.

Nearly seven in 10 organizations now prefer software with built-in AI capabilities, underscoring how quickly artificial intelligence has become a purchasing criterion rather than an add-on, according to a new survey by cybersecurity firm Kaspersky.
The survey, based on responses from 1,800 cybersecurity professionals across 18 countries, found that 69% of organizations recommend AI-enabled solutions when selecting technology. Data analysis and visualization emerged as the most common use case (54%), followed by project management (49%), information search (47%), department-specific tasks (46%), and text generation and editing (41%).
Only 5% of respondents said they would prefer to avoid AI-enabled tools altogether, highlighting the technology’s broad acceptance across enterprise environments.
The survey also found that AI adoption is introducing new cybersecurity challenges. Among organizations that experienced a cyber incident over the past year, 13% said the breach was linked to AI-related vulnerabilities. More than 80% of respondents said AI-related security risks have become a topic of discussion within their organizations.
“The speed at which organizations are embracing AI is remarkable, but it must be matched with an equally strong commitment to security,” said Brandon Muller, Senior Security Consultant for the META region at Kaspersky.
Muller said the company is already seeing a growing range of AI-related threats, including malware disguised as popular AI tools, vulnerabilities introduced through insecure AI-assisted coding, leaked credentials for enterprise AI platforms, and malicious AI agent capabilities.
Despite those concerns, respondents expressed confidence that many risks can be managed through better governance and workforce awareness. Nearly three-quarters (75%) said AI-related security risks can be effectively mitigated through responsible employee behavior.
Kaspersky recommends that organizations establish clear internal policies governing AI use, deploy layered cybersecurity controls, and invest in employee training to reduce security risks as AI adoption expands.
Kaspersky said organizations should combine AI adoption with stronger governance, cybersecurity controls, and employee awareness. “Managing these risks requires a holistic approach: the right technology, well-defined procedures, and a security-aware workforce,” adds Muller.
